Dear VCU Students:
Basketball season is about to get underway. Our team and staff appreciate your support and enthusiasm, and you can be assured we are working very hard to compete for championships and take VCU Basketball to new heights!
During this past offseason, the athletic department met with both students and donors to evaluate the game atmosphere and listen to fan feedback in order to improve the fan experience for everyone. We’ve come up with some innovative plans for re-seating the arena that should amplify the sixth-man presence on game day. Your support and intensity has made the Alltel Pavilion one of the best home courts in the country. We need you to bring that same passion and energy this season.
We have made some changes to the student seating block for the upcoming season. We will be relocating the block of seats that were in sections 23, 24 and 25 behind press row to the two baselines and section 22. This will begin a new tradition of the black and gold student sections behind each basket, and for the Old Dominion game on Jan. 17, we will provide black T-shirts to the students on the west baseline, and gold t-shirts to students on the east baseline. We will also place two rows of floor seats at each end of the court for students and we’re making sure that the view will not be obstructed by the cheer squad. For select games there will even be an additional 14 VIP baseline seats for students almost on the court.
Thanks again for your support. We are looking forward to another exciting season of VCU Basketball. We need you to be a big part of it! See you on Nov. 7 for the Virginia Union exhibition!
Go Rams,
