K-Fed and Britney are both losers
The coverage surrounding Kevin “K-Fed” Federline and his soon to be ex-wife Britney Spears has been very reminiscent of an episode of Jerry Springer, maybe with a little less class. K-Fed is a jerk – He had another girl pregnant when he married Britney.

The coverage surrounding Kevin “K-Fed” Federline and his soon to be ex-wife Britney Spears has been very reminiscent of an episode of Jerry Springer, maybe with a little less class. K-Fed is a jerk – He had another girl pregnant when he married Britney. It’s a simple story that screams “trailer trash” whenever I hear it.
It’s being treated like it’s the divorce of some high-profile power couple, but it isn’t. This dude’s only talent was to convince a rich girl to sleep with him. Now he’s saying he wants the two kids from their relationship. But it’s not like he’s fighting for the kids from his previous relationship – their mom isn’t so rich. That just is the classiest thing I’ve ever heard.
Of course, now there are rumors of a Paris Hilton-esque sex tape floating around and K-Fed is trying to make some cash off of it, to Spears’ dismay. To me, this whole story is ridiculous and certainly wasn’t worthy of bumping election coverage from the TV for a good 20 minutes or so during the elections last week. I think it’s fair to conclude that the real victims are the kids in this relationship, because their parents are both idiots. Let’s hope that that trait isn’t genetic, for their kids’ sake.

Conservative students: make an impact
For two sunny days, members of VCU’s College Republicans were stationed at a red, white and blue table adjacent to the student commons. In the eight hours spent at the table last Thursday and Friday, they handed out over 800 yellow ribbons to students and received 540 signatures on their petition to have World Freedom Day and Veterans Day added to the VCU Calendar of Events.
Though the entire week was previously centered on left-wing politics and the Democratic victory, it poses an interesting paradox that more conservative students have made themselves known within this week than others before it. The VCU College Republicans not only reminded students to honor the veterans and petitioned for two days, but also received overwhelming interest in their organization and the conservative views on which it stands.
With this information and its relation to the latest election results one must ask…are there more conservative VCU students than identified on Facebook and within campus groups? If this is the case, the landscape of VCU’s political economy will begin its gradual makeover over the next few years. Expect to see more conservative students voicing their opinions as well as better political equality within the campus. Conservative activism among students will be high in wake of the election and changing world politics, and it will all begin on college campuses nationwide.
