Rams lose 2 of 3 to Fla. Atlantic
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Rams fell 7-4 to Florida Atlantic Saturday in the second game of the series after leaving 13 runners on base.
The Rams opened up scoring in the top of the first inning when freshman Chris Jackson (Midlothian/Manchester High School) scored on a fielder’s choice by senior Joe Meador (Mechanicsville/ Lee-Davis High School).

The Rams opened up scoring in the top of the first inning when freshman Chris Jackson (Midlothian/Manchester High School) scored on a fielder’s choice by senior Joe Meador (Mechanicsville/ Lee-Davis High School). The Owls responded with an unearned run in the bottom of the inning.
After the Rams scored a run on Scott Sizemore’s (Chesapeake/ Hickory High School) RBI single, the Owls retook the lead 3-2 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame.
Meador scored on a base hit by sophomore Brad Stephenson (Chesapeake/Great Bridge High School) to tie the game, but the Owls scored four runs over the span of the sixth through eighth to put the game out of reach.
On Friday the Rams opened up the series with a win after scoring two runs in the eighth inning to snap a 1-1 tie.
Junior Harold Mozingo (Tappahannock/ Essex High School) pitched six innings, allowing only two hits, one run and striking out nine batters. Junior Bill Wieland (Marlton, N.J.) earned the win in relief, and sophomore Brett Walker (Virginia Beach/Frank W. Cox High School) earned his fourth save.
The Rams fell to the Owls 3-0 in the final game of the series, which was delayed and then cut short Sunday evening due to rain.
