Rams vs. Seahawks:

St. Louis has appeared in two Super Bowls since 2000, winning one. Seattle, meanwhile, is the chic pick to win it all this year, combining an already potent offense with a much-improved defense. This game will reveal to us if Seattle is really equipped to take the crown, or if the Rams aren’t yet ready to relinquish their title.

Rams shut out Flames to continue winning streak

With eight wins in the last nine games, the VCU Women’s Soccer team has started to pull away from the rest of the field in the CAA conference.

The Rams have not allowed a single goal in conference play, outscoring opponents 10-0. As a warm-up for four tough road games in the next two weeks, Tuesday’s non-conference 2-0 win over in-state rival Liberty was the Rams fifth straight.

Injuries have Rams staggering into James Madison

After Sunday’s 3-1 win over Old Dominion, junior defender Ricardo Valverde said he was all right, he had just “tweaked” his knee.

But the injury had him lying on the field for a few minutes. He wasn’t immediately able to walk across the field to VCU’s bench and be treated by the team trainer.

Do you crave for rare Japanese anime and retro video game systems like ColecoVision and Sega Master System? How about some underground hip-hop CDs or a new accessory for your flip phone? Why search online for hours at Ebay and go to several stores when you can walk less than 10 blocks from campus to Alpha on North First Street?

This “retro-hardcore” and “ultra-packed” store is quite unique once you walk into the door.

One Ring Zero

Good news for music lovers: two Richmonders have hit it big with what can arguably be called the most creative, insightful album of the year… and they’re coming back to Richmond for three shows in mid-October.

It’s hard to imagine that not too long ago, Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp of the duo One Ring Zero were both VCU music composition majors hanging around the local music scene, playing in local bands at places like Twisters (now Nancy Raygun) on Grace Street.

Plagiarism a source of confusion for some students

Plagiarism. Let’s face it. We all know someone who has plagiarized at one point in his or her academic career. You could have done it yourself without even knowing it. At VCU, plagiarism is expressly forbidden as a violation of the VCU Honor System, which defines plagiarism as: “Representing orally or in writing, in any academic assignment or exercise, the words, ideas, or works of another as one’s own without customary and proper acknowledgement of the source.

VCU draws international students

When international students travel to Richmond, many name Virginia Commonwealth University as their final destination.

“I support the international students because it not only is a great way to extend their education, but also my own,” said Rachel Hunter, a third-year student studying dance at VCU.
