Valentine’s Day survival guide for singles
Ladies and gentlemen of the singles court, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and what are you going to do? Sit in a dark room with a pillow over your head? I don’t think so! Valentine’s Day is not just a day for the hopelessly smitten, it’s a day for everyone who does care or has ever cared about anyone.
If your sitting their listening to your coupled best friend gush about all their V-Day plans, paste on a smile, tell them how happy you are for them and then go off to make your own plans. Just think of the Destiny’s Child song, “Jumpin, jumpin.” Ladies, “the club is full of ballers and their pockets full grown,” guys, “it’s 11:30 and the club is jumpin, jumpin.” So, get out there and celebrate Valentine’s Day like the swinging single you are. Here are a
few tips to get through the day:
1) Don’t listen to the radio: Love dedications playing for 24 hours straight isn’t good for anyone. Opt for your own CDs. I might suggest some Green Day
2) Don’t watch prime time television. Every station is sure to be airing their V-Day specials. Rent a movie instead.
3) Frequent the clubs. While many couples will probably have the same idea, so will many other singles, and you might just make your own connection.
4) Hug your teddy bear, your teddy bear will always hug you back.
5) Most importantly, celebrate the ones you love. Some
relationships aren’t going to work out but your best friends and family will always be there for you. Don’t forget to say “I love you.”
Now that you are armed with these helpful tidbits, and hopefully a really great clubbing ensemble, or a comfy movie watching couch, live it up this Valentine’s Day.
