‘Final Destination 2’ as original as the title

Right from the opening scene, I knew this movie was going to be trouble. Shots of a dark, shadowy bedroom that really resemble a garage with a bed in it are flashed while a news show playing in the background announces that it is the one year anniversary of the crash of Flight 180 (the plane from the first movie that the original cast was supposed to die on).

‘American Idol’ Wednesday, “American Idol” came back for a half-hour show to announce the results of the first public vote. Julia, Kim and Charles were the top three in votes out of the first group of eight. Kim was the judges’ favorite and seemed to be a shoe in as one of the two who would move on to the top 10.

VCU talent takes center stage

A kickoff to Homecoming week was the Talent Show, hosted by Daynon Smith, on Feb. 3. Six diverse performers left a lasting impression on the judges and audience members.

Joseph Lyons, assistant director of the Career Center, who has been with VCU for 15 years, started his performance stating “the sky’s the limit,” and it certainly was.

Ok Go’s debut album: A diamond in the rough

The self-titled debut album from the punk rock group Ok Go is anything but ordinary. The four members of this all-male band provide a diverse collection of songs, most of which you can’t help but tap your foot. Ok Go gives its listeners a unique beat, funky tunes and original lyrics that are quite refreshing compared to other music today.
