“The Real Cancun” has the least intelligent premise of the century. “Let’s get actors to pretend they’re on a reality show and then say they’re not actors,” the big-wig movie executives tittered. Throw in a helping of gratuitous nudity and Snoop Dogg, and you have the gist of this film.
“Malibu’s Most Wanted” focuses on the plight of the white rapper with Jamie Kennedy as the sweet but clueless B- Rad “from the ‘Bu,” otherwise known as Malibu. This movie started off surprisingly amusing, but by the end I was just praying for Kennedy to shut up.
‘American Idol’ On Wednesday night Carmen took her long awaited departure from the show. There were no surprises. As Clay, Ruben and Kimberly were on fire; Trenyce, Carmen and Joshua found themselves in the bottom three. The biggest surprise of the night was that Trenyce was the first to be sent back to safety.
Darby Jones’ frontman, Nick Cavagnaro, was running around last week, disc man in hand, trying to expose people to their music and draw a decent-sized crowd to their Holy Chow show. The interesting thing was that once I gave them a try they sounded pretty good.
Yes, there are talking ostriches, gender-bending strippers and glowing rubiks cubes featured in this film, but at it’s core, “Dude, Where’s My Car?” is about…nothing. This wacky two-day adventure is a hilarious romp through the trials that Jesse (Ashton Kutcher) and Chester (Sean William Scott) go through to find Jesse’s car.
