Dear editor and fellow tuition payers,

Our VCU police department has far too many people on staff. In this time when administrators are slashing and cutting budgets wherever they can, it seems that the one sacred cow is this campus’ finest (?).
On at least two occasions I’ve noticed three to four officers responding to a call that a single person could’ve taken care of.

SGA Senators to vote on 3 resolutions Monday

Senators will vote on three resolu-tions at the SGA’s final spring meeting Monday.

The first resolution, sponsored by SGA president Shivani Gupta and vice president Mireille Truong, would decree the annual Fall Block Show, Homecoming and the Intercultural Festival as VCU traditions.

Weekend shootings leave 1 dead, 2 injured

Two shootings last weekend, one in Hanover County and one in Richmond, left one person dead, two injured, and some members of VCU’s community concerned about the media’s coverage of the incidents.

Deputies on security duty at Paramount’s Kings Dominion in Hanover County found two shooting victims, an 18-year-old male and a 21-year-old male, about 9 p.

NAACP student chapter to honor achievements

When Virginia Commonwealth University’s student NAACP chapter sponsors its spring Image Award ceremony on April 21, it will honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements.

“The purpose of the image award ceremony is to recognize an outstanding male or female student, faculty member or minority organization that exemplifies community service, campus involvement and some form of academic or civil achievement,” said Alethia Wastford, a senior and chapter president.
