How students can get into a basketball game

Men’s and women’s basketball has returned for the 2019-20 season and fans hope to pack the Siegel Center as they have done for almost eight years straight. Here are all the ways you can get into a basketball game as a student.
Rowdy Rams
One option is the student ticket membership through Rowdy Rams. For $35, members will automatically receive a membership card and a T-shirt. Members also receive priority in the online student ticket portal, guaranteeing tickets for all men’s basketball home games.
Ticket Lottery
Any VCU student can log on to the VCU Athletics website and enter the ticket lottery to reserve admission to men’s basketball games. Each week during the season, Athletics will open the lottery for one or two games at a time. All students have to do is log in with their VCU eID at vcuathletics.com/tickets/MBB/MBBTickets.
Student Overflow
If a student did not secure a ticket through the ticket lottery online, they can line up outside the Siegel Center before a game. All they need is a student ID, and they have a chance to get in if the student section has room available in it just before the game starts. This method does not guarantee a ticket.
Women’s Basketball
Any VCU student can get into a women’s basketball game by showing their student ID at the door on game day. The Rams are the defending Atlantic 10 regular-season champions and return their entire starting lineup from a year ago.
The men’s season begins at home against St. Francis (Pa.) on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. The women’s season also begins Nov. 5 at home at 11 a.m. against Appalachian State.
