Monday, Oct. 17 is the last day to register to vote in Virginia. To register, update your information, find out which district you live in or find your polling place click here. You can now register to vote entirely online — no paper, printing, mailing or envelopes.

In Richmond on Nov. 8 there will be four important elections:

  • President of the United States
  • Richmond Mayor
  • Richmond City Council
  • Richmond School Board

Your vote matters. Millennials — ages 18 to 34 — are now the largest living generation in America, according to the Pew Research Center. The average age of people living in Richmond is 32-years-old. There are more millennials running in the Mayoral, City Council and School Board elections this year than any other.

Between the Richmond City Council and School Board, 18 of the 58 candidates in this year’s election are under the age of 35. Despite constituting for only around 30 percent of the candidate pool, this is the largest number of millennial candidates running for office in the history of the city’s government.
