No words can describe the impact that Briante Weber has had on the men’s basketball team over the last four years. Weber embodied a culture that became HAVOC, while becoming one of the most feared players on the defensive side of the ball. The CT highlights some of Weber’s career-defining moments.

In Weber’s first game as a Ram, he plays 10 minutes coming off the bench, scoring two points off and grabbing his first collegiate steal against St. Francis (Pa.).

Weber is inserted in the Rams’ starting lineup after the men’s basketball team loses two in a row. Weber’s first game as a starter sees the then-freshman score seven points, grab five rebounds and two steals.
THURSDAY, JAN. 19, 2012
Against in-state rival William & Mary, Briante Weber plays a season-high 30 minutes in a double-overtime win against the Tribe. Trailing by one, Weber grabbed the defensive rebound after two missed free throws by W&M’s Brandon Britt. VCU’s Darius Theus would make the game-winning layup for the Rams’ 14th win of the season.

Weber drains two clutch free-throws to hold off a late rally by the Old Dominion University Monarchs for the Rams’ 11th straight win of the 2011-12 season, 68-64. As a freshman, Weber finishes with 77 steals.

Weber records 13 points and 10 steals versus Florida Gulf Coast University. Weber’s 10 steals would set a career-high. He would also post his highest field goal percentage of the season (87.5 percent) on a minimum of seven shots.

Weber makes a career-high four three-pointers on six attempts against Winthrop University. Weber’s 14 points in the game would be the highest of the season.
FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2013
Weber ends a late rally by the 10th seeded Saint Joseph University with an emphatic dunk to push the Rams past the Hawks. Weber is named Atlantic-10 Defensive Player of the Year. Weber grabs 98 steals on the season.

Weber goes 10-11 from the free-throw line, shooting 90.9 percent from the charity stripe, the best of his career, in a 92-71 win against Winthrop University.

Weber scores 22 points in a losing effort against the University of Georgetown. The game would produce his highest scoring game of the 2013-14 season and his career.

Weber records nine rebounds against Saint Louis University, matching a career-high, in a 64-62 road loss.

Weber breaks his own-single season school record (98) and becomes the first player in school history to reach 100 steals in a season, becoming just the eighth player in the Atlantic 10 to conquer that feat.

Weber statistically has the best game of his career going 8-10 from the floor (80 percent), 1-1 from the three-point line (100 percent) and 1-1 from the field goal line (100 percent). Weber tallied 18 points, the second highest total of the 2013-14 season in a 71-53 rout of Richmond in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 conference championships.

Weber plays a career-high 42 minutes in an overtime loss to Stephen F. Austin University in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Weber is named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Weber grabs a career-high 121 steals on the season.

In his return from a one-game suspension, Weber had what he called “the best all-around game (he’s) ever played,” against the University of Toledo, scoring 18 points, recording nine steals, eight rebounds and seven assists in 33 minutes of play. Weber shot 3-4 from the three-point line.

Weber records his only double-double of the season, recording 11 points and 10 assists in a win over Oregon University. The game would be Weber’s highest assist total all season and would match his career-high of 10 set against Old Dominon University on Dec. 7, 2012.

Weber scores 15 points, the second-highest point total of the season to help the Rams defeat Saint Louis University 63-61.

Weber scores nine of his 11 points in the first half against the University of Richmond. Weber also grabs six steals before getting injured to bring his career total to 374, 12 shy of breaking the record. Weber ends the year averaging 8.1 points per game in 26.5 minutes per game, shooting 40 percent field goal percentage, 41.4 three-point percentage, 74.1 percent from the free-throw line, 3.7 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game and 3.9 steals per game. Entering the contest against U of R, Weber was the Atlantic-10 and NCAA leader in total steals (78 steals) and steals per game (3.9 steals per game).
