Fan robbery second of weekend
VCU alerted students via text message to an armed robbery off campus on Sunday night, the second such incident that occurred near campus over the weekend.

A victim reported an armed robbery to the Richmond Police Department at 10:52 p.m that occurred at 1214 W. Franklin St. in the VCU Police Department’s extended jurisdiction.
Students received a text alert shortly before 11 p.m. reporting the crime. Students were told to avoid the area. The crime was reported as resolved by 11:40 p.m.
Two suspects approached the victim in the 1200 block of West Franklin Street, and asked the victim to speak to him for a second. When the suspects had the victim’s attention, one suspect displayed a handgun. One suspect struck the victim in the head and stole the victim’s wallet, keys and cell phone.
One suspect is described as a 6-foot black male in his mid-20s who wore a dark-knit crew sweater, according the the alert. The second suspect is described as a 5-foot-9 black male in his late teens or early-20s with short curly hair a dark jacket with a vertical stripe on the sleeves and light colored blue jeans. He used a black, compact Glock-style handgun during the robbery, according to the alert.
The victim did not report any injuries to police. Richmond Police are investigating the crime.
