Game notes:

  • VCU and Northeastern are tied in their all-time series history six wins a piece.
  • Northeastern comes into the game having won eight of their last 12 games. VCU comes in as winners of eight games in a row.
  • Northeastern guard Jonathan Lee has scored in double-digits in 31 of the Huskies’ last 34 games
  • Northeastern forward Quincy Ford was named the CAA Freshman of the Week this past week, his second time winning the award this year.
  • VCU are 13.5-point favorites heading into the match tonight.
  • VCU is second in the league in scoring offense and third in scoring defense.
  • VCU is fourth in the nation in steals per game, nabbing 10 per game. The Rams also lead the country in total steals with 239, one more than No. 2 Syracuse (238).
  • For all the talk of VCU senior forward Bradford Burgess’ shooting woes, the Richmond native still leads the team in points per game with 12.5 PPG.  Juvonte Reddic and Troy Daniels also both average over 10 points per game, with Reddic averaging 10.9 and Daniels coming in at 10.0 on the dot.
  • Northeastern head coach Bill Coen is now 10th all-time in the CAA in wins with 60.
  • Since Northeastern joined the CAA, four of the seven match-ups between these two teams have been decided single digits
  • Northeastern is returning four of five starters from last season.
  • Tonight will be the 15th consecutive sellout at the Siegel Center. The Rams are one of five teams in the country to have sold out every game thus far this season alongside Duke, Michigan State, Kansas and Gonzaga.
