CAA Awards Projections

Player of the Year:
Charles Jenkins, G, Hofstra
It’s no secret that Jenkins has become the poster child of the CAA over the course of the past two seasons. After becoming POY last season, Jenkins has become nationally known, consistently competing in the top five scoring players in the nation.

Coach of the Year:
Jim Larranaga, George Mason
After taking the Patriots to the Final Four in 2006, Larranaga looks to be on the same path having led his team to 15 straight victories to cap off the regular season in first place in the conference standings.

Rookie of the Year:
Devon Saddler, G, Delaware
Saddler has provided solid support for senior Jawan Carter in the frontcourt all season long. The freshman sensation has averaged 13.5 points per game along with 2.9 assists per outing, only an indication of what is to come in the next three years.

Defensive Player of the Year:
Frank Hassell, F, Old Dominion
Hassell has made his name as one of the most feared big-men in the league. His commanding presence down low in the paint has been felt by every team in the CAA. Averaging 1.4 blocks along with just under 10 rebounds per game, the senior forward has helped ODU become the sixth-best rebounding team in the nation (40.6), which leads the conference.
