Letter to the readers
To our readers:
Recently I have become aware that in the past few issues of The CT, several articles included statements that did not meet the standards of accuracy and fairness we strive to keep. By doing so, we realize we have put into question the accuracy of the student paper.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to personally apologize for these previous mistakes and assure you, our readers, that The CT staff is one of the most dedicated groups of driven employees (both student and non-student alike) that I have ever had the privilege to work with. I would like to assure you that the entirety of our staff carries out their job-related tasks with the highest regard to professional ethics and standards and strives to deliver accurate information in a timely fashion.
It is our policy that we run corrections for every content-based error that is published in print and on our website, and you can be sure that we will hold true to that policy and are working to distribute a publication that reflects that promise.
I apologize particularly to any parties that have been affected by any previous errors and hope that our efforts to take responsibility and correct those errors would be taken, at minimum, as sufficient. To those specific parties, I say thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow into what we hope will be the most reliable source for on-campus news, entertainment, sports coverage and opinion.
I would also like to thank the entire VCU community for your support and readership – especially over the past year, which has led to big changes in the paper’s appearance.
Finally, the last thank you is to the readers. The CT staff promises to continue to provide you with the most up-to-date information on current events to the best of our ability.
Sincerely,
Erica Terrini
