The four-day celebration known as Best Friends Day came and went this year once again.

The festivities kicked off last Thursday with a show at The Bike Lot and ran through last Sunday with performances held at Gallery 5. BFD presented, as promised, an extensive 30-plus line up of bands (including Andrew W.K. at the Canal Club last Friday), along with a Field Day Challenge that took the place of the traditional scavenger hunt.

For nine years now BFD has become a Richmond staple. It has taken off from its humble beginnings of 40 friends celebrating their relationships for one day at a water park to attracting more than 2,600 people to Hadad’s Lake last year and 3,465 to the water park this year, according to Hadad’s Lake owner Ron Hadad.

Check out the photos The Commonwealth Times got from last Saturday’s show at Hadad’s Lake.
