MTV’s “The Real World” tryouts will be held in Richmond Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Capital Ale House downtown. We asked VCU students if they would want to be cast members on the reality TV show.

“I just figure I couldn’t do it. I would love to. When I was in high school I was voted ‘most likely to be on a reality television show.’ That was my superlative, so I feel like if I were to do it I’d live up to that standard and I don’t want to do it . because I don’t want to be documented. I’d do it for fun and see how far I would go, hell yeah.”
– Wendy Alabastro, community health
education major

“I think it would be a great experience. It’d be fun and entertaining.”
– Mary Irby, psychology major

“I’m a graduate student and I think it would be kind of cool to be on ”The Real World’ because you never really see an older crowd on ‘The Real World’ so I think it would be cool.”
– Lillie Jones, graduate student

“No, because I’m not interested in that. I like to watch stuff like that (but) I don’t want to be a part of that stuff. I don’t want to be on TV for that kind of stuff-act reckless, parents see you, you know?”
– Tenika Abban, political science major

“I kind of feel the characters they get for ‘The Real World’ are people that are very outgoing and trying to do things that involve drama and they obviously know what they’re doing. I’m not like that at all. I try to normalize the situation; they’re trying to find people that are trying to make it crazier. They only get crazy people for that (the Real World), right?”
– Andrew Kieffer, creative advertising major
