Q: Why did you choose cheerleading?

A: I used to be a gymnast. I did gymnastics for eight years and then stopped. Cheerleading was the next closest thing, involving a lot of tumbling, jumping and strength.

Q: What sport would you play if you weren’t a cheerleader?

A: If I weren’t a cheerleader I would definitely play football. It has always been my favorite sport and I watch it whenever I can.

Q: Who has influenced you the most?

A: A lot of people have influenced me in my life, but God and my family have influenced me the most. My family pushes me to be my best while supporting and caring for me through adventure.

Q: What has been your best moment in sports (not necessarily at VCU)?

A: The best moment in my career was probably this past April when we competed in Daytona, Florida at Nationals. Although it was heartbreaking: We came in second by less than 0.1; day two of the competition was the first time we hit our routine ever. The energy and desire to win felt throughout the routine and after by my teammates was something I’ve never felt before.

Q: What is your worst moment in sports?

A: My worst moment in cheerleading was Ram Madness 2007. My stunt partner and I were warming up, luckily before anyone was there, when I went to cradle and he dropped me. I fell on the basketball court and I ended up separating my shoulder.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?

A: My favorite athlete would be Michael Jordan. He inspired myself and many others with his never quit attitude and his ability to follow his dreams when people doubted him.

Q: How would your teammates describe you off the court?

A: My teammates would say that I am very blunt and tell you like it is. They would also say I was pretty goofy as well.

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: After I graduate I plan to pursue my career as a radiologic technologist.
