Draped in relentlessly orange hues and a glowing 1970’s vibe, “The Informant!” is an interesting hybrid of several cinematic genres. Part dark comedy and spy film, at once humorous and timely, director Steven Soderbergh’s latest doesn’t exactly have the glitz of his “Ocean’s” movies.
Nonetheless, it bears a resemblance with them in that it deals with heists and the lying liars who orchestrate them.
