Women’s Soccer
Defeated Wofford 3-0 on Sunday. Senior June Hartman (Virginia Beach) tallied two goals, and Jasmine Riley (Arlington) added another for the Rams. Chenae Nelson (Alexandria) recorded her first career shutout in playing all 90 minutes. The Rams are back in action on Friday to take on Virginia Tech in the UNC Greensboro Invitational. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
Field Hockey
Defeated Miami (Ohio) 2-1 in Sunday’s season opener. Senior Lindsay Jones (Springfield) scored off a rebound with 2:20 left to clinch the Rams’ first victory. Freshman goalie Megan Botteri (Mount Bethel, Pa.) made five saves in her regular season debut. VCU is back in action on Friday, taking on St. Joseph’s in Philadelphia.
