Earlier this month, former VCU Police Chief Willie Fuller was reported to be in critical care at the VCU Medical Center after a diabetes-related medical emergency.
Fuller was arrested Jan. 28 for an alleged chat room conversation with an Chesterfield undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. Fuller allegedly used the screen name “Hotcop2006,” and currently faces three felony charges.
Fuller, 50, was found by a neighbor in the parking lot outside Fullers Henrico County apartment.
According to Malorie Janis, a public relations specialist for VCU, Fuller is still at the medical center. She would not divulge any further information at the request of Fuller’s family.
Arnold Henderson, Fullers attorney, said Fullers condition was critical and had not improved.
If Fuller’s medical status renders him unable to appear in court, the scheduled July 8 bench trial for Fuller might have to be postponed. Henderson declined to comment on how he would handle the case if Fuller’s condition does not improve.
Shortly after Fullers arrest, Style Weekly reported that VCU had conducted an investigation previously on Fuller, after receiving internal complaints.
