Fuller waives rights to preliminary trial

A Chesterfield County judge granted former VCU Police Chief Willie B. Fuller’s request to waive his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday morning. As a result, the prosecution dropped one of two charges of indecent liberties with a minor. Fuller still faces three felony charges: one for attempted indecent liberties with a minor and two for the use of an electronic device to solicit sex from a minor.

No evidence was heard before the court. The charges will be heard before a grand jury on May 18.

Fuller, who is now out on bond, refused to comment.
