Acting without borders
Joseph Carlson has been involved with Theatre VCU for the better part of the decade. Now entering his second semester as a graduate student majoring in acting and directing pedagogy, Carlson, 24, appears to be acting his way to the top of Richmond’s theater community.
Israel answers violence with violence
With the amount of missiles and gunfire hitting Israel and the Gaza Strip over the past month, it is hard to imagine why anyone would voluntarily take a trip there. However, most of Israel is a beautiful landscape far from war-torn, but seeing the country in pereson only makes it slightly easier to understand the endless territorial fighting.
Virtual bathroom walls
To some students, JuicyCampus.com is a Web site that provides entertainment by allowing users to speak freely on a public forum. To others, it’s a way to damage reputations.
The Web site was created in August 2007 by Mark Ivester, a Duke University alumnus.
Ink Magazine releases first issue
For the staffers at Ink Magazine, the new year brings a sense of optimism and a drive to solidify themselves as a publication.
The magazine is a student-run publication that works within the Student Media Center.
“Out of the ashes of The Vine and Monument Ink,” as stated on the magazine’s Facebook group, Ink Magazine published its first issue this past December.
