Man indicted in slaying of Broncos’ Williams
A 25-year-old man was indicted Wednesday on first-degree murder charges in the drive-by shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams on New Year’s Day 2007.
Willie D. Clark faces 39 counts, including murder, attempted murder, assault, crimes of violence and a weapons violation, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey said.

Musicians picked for VCU’s anniversary

Planners have found the five local bands that will perform at the Monroe Park Festival this fall.
The top five bands – picked by VCU’s 40th Anniversary Entertainment Committee – beat out 268 other bands.
Black Awakening Choir performs at 2nd Street Festival
VCU’s Black Awakening Choir closed out Richmond’s 19th annual 2nd Street Festival.
The festival, which celebrates the culture of historic Jackson Ward, took place this past weekend.
This was not only the choir’s first performance of the year but also its first performance with new conductor, James Johnson, who wants to bring an authentic element to the choir.
Starr Foster’s ‘Submerged’ to stir the soul
Starr Foster built a name for herself in the Richmond dance community years ago. As an adjunct faculty member, Foster welcomes any opportunity to perform.
This Thursday through Saturday, the Starr Foster Dance Project will be performing “Submerged,” a concert including three world premieres, eight professional dancers and a slightly smaller special guest at the Grace Street Theater.
