Kaine says he has no authority to extend hours

Gov. Timpthy M. Kaine says he considered expanding polling hours for next week’s election but has no authority to do it.

Kaine said on his call-in radio show Thursday that he expects waiting lines Tuesday, but they will be manageable. Virginia has 10,600 voting machines this year compared to 5,900 in the 2004 presidential election, and 30,000 poll workers have been hired this year, compared to 19,000 four years ago.

Dear VCU Students:

Basketball season is about to get underway. Our team and staff appreciate your support and enthusiasm, and you can be assured we are working very hard to compete for championships and take VCU Basketball to new heights!

During this past offseason, the athletic department met with both students and donors to evaluate the game atmosphere and listen to fan feedback in order to improve the fan experience for everyone.

Rams blank rival Monarchs

After two home losses and a pair of draws on the road, the VCU Rams appeared to be lacking the swagger they carried in September and early October.

“We were struggling a little bit, to be quite honest with you, with our confidence,” said head coach Tim O’Sullivan.
