Good acting, dirty dialogue save ‘Porno’

A Kevin Smith film always delights viewers with dialogue- fresh and funny, no matter what the movie. His mastery of indecent language is Shakespearean, yet it always draws a good laugh, in addition to protest from religious conservatives.

The conservatives are definitely protesting Smith’s most recent film, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” about two people, well, making a porno.

Students receive election results

Many students – supporters of Obama and Sen. McCain alike – gathered at the University Student Commons on Tuesday to watch polls close and results come in as Sen. Barack Obama was declared the president-elect.

Sarah Al-Faresi, an informations systems major, was in the Commons Underground, which was filled with a high-energy crowd of mostly Obama supporters watching CNN on the room’s large projection screen.

Spain’s Interior Ministry says it has rejected an asylum request from a son of Osama bin Laden.

A ministry official says the government determined that 27-year-old Omar Osama bin Laden did not “meet the conditions necessary for entering Spain.”

The official would not elaborate or discuss the younger bin Laden’s reasons for seeking asylum upon arriving Monday at Madrid’s Barajas Airport.

Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki declared a public holiday Thursday in the country of Obama’s late father, allowing celebrations to continue through the night and into a second day.
