Things I have been thinking about lately

0

I have a lot of things on my mind. None of them are important. Enjoy.

Thing One

When I was thinking of things to write about Sunday, I decided to put down the topic of “sock drawers,” because it
is completely newsworthy. Having actually decided to forge ahead and write about this topic I realized I do not have very much to say on the subject, except that I would have a bigger sock drawer if the dryer did not eat all of my socks.

I do not believe in organization. I am an important person with many important things to do, such that, I am out doing these important things too much to care about cleaning-except for when my parents come into town.

My “sock drawer” is actually filled with miscellaneous items, including socks -most of which don’t match, tanks tops and random pieces of paper. Therefore, I can’t really write about my sock drawer, because it does not exist.

Thing Two

Why have more bands and music artists from the 1990s not made a come-back. Last year we had the Spice Girls lip-syncing at their overpriced world tour and this year we have the Backstreet Boys doing the same thing. What has Third Eye Blind been up to? If I could solely make the decision, I would bring back Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers and Fastball for a rocking 90s concert. However, a Limp Bizket comeback is not allowed and should never be allowed

Thing Three

I wonder if I would be a better writer if I had enjoyed reading Henry David Thoreau’s Walden in high school. I wonder this because all the kids that were “serious” about journalism and wrote for our high school’s PR journal – I mean our school paper – extolled the virtues of the book and how transcendentalism was the best thing since sliced bread. I did not agree. I also happened to want to hit those people really hard with my Walden soft-cover book. Walden may actually be the worst book I have ever read. It was Thoreau judging people while sitting next to a pond all day. Good for him.

Thing Four

What do people who drive Smart Cars do when they have large packages to carry around? Any owners of Smart Cars lease feel free to write me and fill me in.

Thing Five

I wish all the movies based on Dr. Seuss books had been put in the exact language of the books-and I do mean exact. By exact I mean, all rhyming, all the time. I would have paid extra to see the movies in that case.

Thing Six

I wonder how many angry letters I am going to get from people calling me self-absorbed. I wonder this because I usually only get letters when I write about politics. It would be nice to see that people get angry about other things too. I can’t help the fact that I think about a lot of things when I am supposed to be paying attention in class. I also can’t help that I am awesome and I dare you to prove me wrong.

Thing Seven

I want a goldfish. I want to name my goldfish Lars. Lars the Goldfish and I will be best friends. I will remember to feed Lars . hopefully.

Thing Eight

I think Jersey Mike’s Subs are awful. To anyone out there who likes Jersey Mike’s food, what is wrong with you? Shafer has better food. The sandwiches are soggy and everything just tastes bad. However, they do have Wild Cherry Pepsi. Jersey Mike’s gets five points.

Thing Nine

Naps are the most glorious thing. I love naps. I want to take one right now-so do you, I bet. College is awesome because of the split up classes which allow optimum time for napping.

Thing Ten

Anna Yates-she is important, however.
