A common thread hems together the world’s cultures, despite
their geographical, lingual or religious differences-music.
Since the beginning of documented history – and possibly
even before – cultures all over the world have used this artistic
outlet for various purposes. From communication to storytelling
to imparting knowledge, music is used more than solely
for entertainment. This Sunday, the performances at the 2008
Intercultural Festival exemplified this very fact.
With the performer list long and varied – with acts spanning
the globe and virtually every continent represented – one barely
had time to navigate through the well-attended event from one
stage to the other to catch all the performances.
