BASEBALL

The game scheduled for Tuesday at
Longwood was postponed because of rain.
No make-up date has been scheduled. The
Rams will be in Norfolk this weekend for
a three-game series with Old Dominion.

GOLF

The Rams finished the 16-team Shocker
Classic alone in third place and shot a
three-round score of 872 (292-284-296)
this week. VCU finished eight shots behind
Southern Methodist University while
host Wichita State won the tournament
with a combined score of 855. Rafael
Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Baldwin
School of PR) and Vincent Nadeau (Penn
Hook/Purdue) led the Rams and tied for
sixth place at two over par (215). Lanto
Griffin (Blacksburg/Blacksburg) finished
15th (218).

Sophomores Campos, Nadeau and
Griffin, as well as senior Alex Brown
(Richmond/Belmont Abbey College),
are among the top 20 players in the first
official CAA rankings, released this week,
for the Rams.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Senior forward Krystal Vaughn (Baltimore,
Md./Lake Clifton-Eastern) has
been invited to participate in the WNBA
Pre-Draft Camp in Tampa, Fla. The camp is
offered by invitation only and immediately
precedes the WNBA draft. Vaughn is the
first Ram to be invited to the scouting
combine. She led VCU with 15.6 points
a game in the 2007-2008 season.
