NFL Congratulations to the Miami Dolphins after the team won its first . wait . you mean the Dolphins didn’t win? Oh yeah, that’s right, the Dolphins stole defeat from the jaws of victory on Sunday in a 13-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Honestly, when I’m keeping up with Sunday’s games either on television or on ESPN.
Women’s soccer falls in CAA final
VIRGINIA BEACH – VCU advanced to the championship after a thrilling win Friday night over top-seeded William and Mary. The Rams and Tribe were both unable to score in regulation and overtime. With the season on the line, freshman Laurel Pastor (Springfield/West Springfield) sent VCU to sudden victory with her converted penalty kick.

MEN’S SOCCER The Rams won their sixth straight match Thursday, 2-1, at James Madison. The Dukes got on the board first with a 20th-minute goal from C.J. Sapong, but the Rams answered with a goal from senior Sven Meusch (Cologne, Germany) six minutes later.
Dominating defense leads to easy victory
The Rams started the season by making history Friday night by beating Central Connecticut State 98-44 at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. The points scored and the margin of victory, 54, were both the second largest in school history. VCU had five players score in double figures, led by Senior Krystal Vaughn (Baltimore/Lake Clifton-Eastern), who poured in 20 points, and Junior Quanitra Hollingsworth (Chesapeake/Great Bridge), who notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Rams shut down Hawks in season opener
Anticipation was high to see how the Rams would perform with a much different roster than last season as the team returned to action for the first game that counted since March. The 236-day wait finally came to an end Friday night when VCU defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore, 70-51, in the Rams’ fifth consecutive win in their home opener.

Writer’s strike ends television season prematurely, places spring shows on leave
The Writer’s Guild of America strike that officially started Monday, Nov. 7, will leave TV watchers of all ages with a black screen for what could be months to come. Already a majority of shows are starting to shut down, and the damage stretches across the board through all four major networks: – NBC has halted production of its popular worker-drone satire “The Office.
