FC Porto asserted itself as group leader thanks to goals from Tarik Sektioui and Lisandro
López.

Rosenborg exacted its revenge following last week’s defeat at home to Valencia, while
a determined Schalke held off its English rival in a dirty, hard-fought match.
Group C

(1-2-1) Olympiacos CFP 0 – 0 Real Madrid CF (2-2-0)
Despite late drama in Italy, Bremen was not able to come back from the brilliant strikes
of Tommaso Rocchi. Real and Olypiacos reached a stalemate in their battle for the top
spot in the group.
Group D

(2-0-2) Shakhtar Donetsk 0 – 3 AC Milan FC (3-0-1)
Though evenly matched, Aiden McGeady’s goal right before halftime sealed the deal
for Celtic, pitting it against Shakhtar for second place. Despite its poor domestic league
performance, Milan continued to perform well in its group, thanks to goals from Pippo
Inzaghi and Kaka.
Group E
(2-0-2) Olympique Lyonnais 4 – 2 VfB Stuttgart (0-0-4)
(3-1-0) FC Barcelona 2 – 0 Rangers FC (2-1-1)
German champion Stuttgart has lost all hope of European glory, while Ronaldinho
and company showed FC Rangers who is boss in their group.
Group F
(4-0-0) Manchester United FC 4 – 0 FC Dynamo Kyiv (0-0-4)
(1-1-2) Sporting Clube de Portugal 2 – 2 AS Roma (2-1-1)
While it took Man. U a while to get its rhythm going, Dynamo puttered out late in
the first half, allowing the onslaught of Carlitos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gerard Piqué
and Wayne Rooney to light up the scoreboard. Man U. remains the only team in the
Champions League with a perfect record.
