BASEBALL
The Rams traveled to New York over the weekend and left victorious after taking 2 of 3 games from Hofstra. The Pride won Friday’s game 3-2 in 12 innings, but VCU bounced back with a 19-5 win on Saturday and a 5-3 triumph on Sunday. The black and gold scored 11 runs in the top of the ninth inning in Saturday’s win.

Sergio Miranda (Bayamon, Puerto Rico), Carlos Rodriguez (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) and Jared Bolden (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) all hit home runs in the inning and combined for 11 hits and 10 RBI for the game.
GOLF
After two rounds the Rams are in fifth place at the Cavalier Classic hosted by the University of Virginia. The Cavaliers lead the tournament and are followed in the top five by UNC Greensboro, Richmond, Maryland and VCU. The black and gold remains in front of CAA rivals James Madison and William & Mary, who are sixth and seventh respectively. Freshman Lanto Griffin (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) is one-over par and is currently in second place individually.
