Boy found in croc

A missing 9-year-old student’s remains were discovered inside a crocodile. The student and three friends climbed over a fence into a pool in a park in Beihai, China, which is used for staging crocodile shows.

The children had beaten the crocodiles with sticks and shot them with catapults. An irritated croc dragged one boy into the water, and the swarm of reptiles ate him, according to news reports.

Snipers lured the animals from the water the next day and shot the first one that came ashore. The remains discovered in the croc were confirmed as those of the 9-year-old boy. Police are holding the crocodile keeper and the park manager.

Alcoholics rejoice

Fruity cocktails are not only tasty; they are now considered good for you. A report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture said that adding ethanol – the kind found in rum, vodka and other spirits – boosts the antioxidant nutrients in strawberries and blackberries.

Researchers in the U.S. and Thailand found that adding alcohol to any colored fruit made it even healthier. Antioxidants are chemicals that can repair the cell-damaging effects of free radicals.

The researchers were actually searching for a way to keep strawberries fresh during storage.

Explosive pot

An explosion in a Miami home Wednesday set fire to a house – and to the marijuana plants that were being hydroponically grown inside it.

Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, but police believe the man might have been using propane gas near the high-intensity lamps, which are used to grow plants indoors.

The force of the explosion sent the 40-year-old homeowner into the yard. He is in critical condition with bad burns on his chest, arms and legs.

Police said the house was destroyed and that they seized more than 40 marijuana plants.

Because of his injuries, the man was not immediately charged with any crimes.

Statistics from the area have shown a dramatic increase in beautification surgery. Since the launch of the advertising campaign for the loans last week, the bank has received more than 200 phone calls a day.
