the CTube: Office Peeps

At this time of year at The CT, our thoughts turn to Peeps. Although cheapened by the recent availability of Peeps at other times of the year, they are still awesome. In that spirit, we set on a search for the best Peeps-related video on the Internet.

We found “Office Peeps,” 10 minutes of “Office Space” scenes played out by – of course – Peeps. We start with Peter driving to work, stuck in traffic and forced to listen to rap blaring out of the nearest car. The shots are a mix of Matchbox cars and close-ups of real cars being “driven” by Peeps. Peter is a yellow Peep with hair and a baby blue tie.

Next, Peter is in his cardboard office cubicle when his boss, Bill – a blue Peep with suspenders – strolls in to tell him about the new TPS report cover letters. Then Bill goes to mess with poor Milton, who has huge bug-eyes behind glasses frames.

He takes Milton’s Swingline stapler as the deranged employee mutters about burning down the building. Next up is Thomas, who tries to kill himself. After his wife saves him, the toy car he’s driving gets crushed by a real car.

The best part is the same as the best part of the real movie: The printer scene. In this version, the Peeps attack with tiny baseball bats and meat tenderizers, with several shots of real baseball bat strikes thrown in for good measure.

It ends with the building burning down, as Milton and a veritable rainbow of other Peeps watch.

P.S.- Make sure to pick up some Peeps on sale today!

Looking for an entertaining video on YouTube can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. With users uploading at least 65,000 new videos a day, it’s hard to know what to look for and where to find it. That’s why the CT has created The CTube. Issue to issue, we’ll weed through all the good, bad and ugly that YouTube has to offer to find what we think, at the least, will hold your attention. No need to spend more time than necessary on YouTube when Facebook already consumes half of your day, right?
