GOLF

Freshman Rafael Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) was named CAA golfer of the week on Tuesday. Campos tied for third last week at USA Spring Golf Classic with an 8-under 208. He shot the lowest round of the tournament on the third and final day with a 6-under 66. This is the second time he has earned this award, the first time coming the week ending March 18.

MEN’S SOCCER

The spring exhibition season is underway as the Rams defeated the Richmond Kickers 3-2 last week. VCU has games scheduled with Longwood, American and Louisburg College. The spring season concludes on April 28 with a scrimmage against a team of VCU alumni.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

The black and gold continued its winning ways, taking home three wins from last weekend’s George Mason Invitational. Freshman DeAngelo Wilson (Richmond, Va./Prince Edward) continued his streak by winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.87 seconds. A leap of 7.13 meters was enough to give Davion Lambert (Richmond, Va./Varina) a victory in the long jump event. The final Rams victory was in the 4X100 meter relay where the team posted a time of 42.42 seconds.

A record-breaking win by senior Ashley Rogers (Chesapeake, Va./Deep Creek) highlighted six Rams victories in last weekend’s Tribe Invitational, hosted by William and Mary. Rogers’ toss of 44’1
