Sometimes, I feel like it’s not a proper semester at VCU unless I hear some bizarre story about some perv around campus. Geez guys, have some decency and at least remove yourself from a public area if you really need to do “that.

Speaker talks tricks to treading through Europe

Gill White, a Canadian backpacker, told students that backpacking through Europe on only 84 cents a day by hitching rides is a relatively safe thing to do.

“Some people think that to survive on 84 cents a day, I must have slept in ditches and fields and picked through garbage cans and . waited all day just for one single ride,” White said.

Black Awakening Choir funds in jeopardy

After 37 years on campus, the award-winning VCU Black Awakening Choir might lose crucial amounts of their funding from the Student Government Association.

Choir member Alonzo Brooks said the choir first learned of a possible funding loss from William Moehl, a current SGA presidential candidate.

To better understand China’s relationship with the world media, 14 students enrolled in the course, “Honors Topic: Covering Modern China,” left Richmond Wednesday to complete issue-oriented, media projects in Shanghai.

Associate professors Debora Wenger and June Nicholson are supervising the students’ stay, which will last two weeks.
