BASEBALL
The Rams couldn’t hold on to the momentum that came from sweeping Wagner, and fell 5-3 at VMI on Tuesday. Junior shortstop Sergio Miranda (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) had three doubles and an RBI in the loss. Sophomore Chris Jackson (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single to centerfield in the fourth inning.

Freshman pitcher Phillip Deane (Richmond, Va./Varina) was named CAA co-rookie of the week after his recent strong performance. He was 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA before taking the mound against the Keydets on Tuesday.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Sophomore sensation Eric Maynor (Fayetteville, N.C./Westover) was named to the all-defensive second team as chosen by Rivals.com. Maynor led the team in steals with 48, an average of 1.4 per game.
GOLF
The Rams finished seventh in last weekend’s USA Spring Golf Classic, hosted by the University of South Alabama. The black and gold shot an 11-over 875 to finish 28 strokes behind champion Chattanooga. Rafael Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) shot a 6-under 66 in the final round to tie for third overall at 8-under. The 66 tied for the best score of the tournament.
MEN’S TENNIS
Junior Damien Lacombe (Perigueux, France) was named CAA singles player of the week from March 11-18. During that week Lacombe went 3-0 at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic. He is 19-3 in singles play this season.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
The Rams have dropped three matches in a row after losing to Baylor 6-0 on Sunday.
