A couple in Columbia, Md., was charged in September with 225 counts of animal cruelty due to housing more than 100 diseased and dead cats inside. However, surrounding residents are still not happy. Neighbors recently filed complaints with the county health department, saying that the house has caused a stench around the neighborhood. They are upset as well at the county’s lack of action to change it. “We just want to be able to enjoy our home without having to walk out with the place smelling like a barn,” one neighbor told The (Boston) Examiner. Though a health inspector recently evaluated the home Nov. 13, reporting that “the odor was very minimal,” neighbors claim that the inspectors weren’t allowed to examine the basement or attic, which are allegedly covered in “dead cats, insects, cat feces and urine.”

Man with severed tongue found wandering naked

A Sterling Heights man was found naked by Detroit police Monday night, wandering the east side. The 22-year-old man was first reported by a tow truck driver, who reported that the man was “staggering” down Forest Lawn and Van Dyke around 5 p.m. After the driver took the man to a nearby gas station, police attempted to communicate with him but were unable to due to the man suffering a severed tongue. He also suffered from loss of blood and other injuries, and was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he is in critical condition. Police are still unsure as to whether his severed tongue was a self-inflicted injury or not.
