NORFOLK, Va. – The Rams won their sixth consecutive game last night, sticking it to the Norfolk State Spartans 71-49.

The team quieted a packed Echols Hall by beginning the game with 15 unanswered points.

The Rams never let up, taking a 33-19 lead into halftime.

Norfolk had 21 turnovers and was limited to 29 percent from the floor.

Phoenix 19 30 – 49

ELON, N.C. – The Rams overwhelmed the Elon University Phoenix 91-49 Tuesday.

Five VCU players scored in the double-digits, led by Eric Maynor (Fayetteville, N.C.) who scored 15 points and collected six defensive rebounds.

Elon was kept from scoring for the first 8:39 of the match as VCU put 22 points on the board.

By the end of the first half, the score was 45-19 in VCU’s favor.

They continued to pressure Elon through the second half of play, but found themselves trading goals. The Rams managed to score the final five points of the game, however.
