All the cat without the conniptions
Allerca, a cat-breeding biotechnology company from San Diego, just announced their new kitty: the hypoallergenic Ashera, a type of cat cross-bred from African servals to create “an exotic, leopard-looking hybrid.” Not only does the breed keep away the sniffles, but the $4,000 pet can grow to be at least 25 pounds. It has raised catty remarks by competing “kitty mills,” claiming that Allerca is just repackaging their breeds for a much higher price. Among those claiming to be breeding cats with the same low-allergy qualities but for a fraction of the price are Siberian and Savannah cat breeders.

Man is stabbed by brother over housekeeping dispute
In Bangor, Maine, a man was stabbed to death by his brother after an apparent dispute “over housekeeping” at their home on Monday. Police said that Mike Nickerson, 49, stabbed his brother Charlie Nickerson, 44, multiple times Sunday. Charlie Nickerson later died at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast. Though a third brother, who lives next door, said on Monday that he believes that the stabbing occurred because of “an ongoing feud” over how the house they shared was cared for, police said that they are still seeking to “discover the circumstances” and are investigating whether it was a case of self-defense.
