Homeless man robs bus using rats

In Bogota, Colombia, a homeless man attacked a public bus full of people on Friday. With two large street rats in tow, the man caused the bus passengers to go into a frenzy, resulting in several female passengers panicking and losing consciousness. The man, who has not been identified, demanded that passengers give him 10,000 pesos. Otherwise, he said he would “let the rats run loose in the vehicle.” In an attempt to get the man to leave, passengers started to hand him money. After collecting over 2,000 pesos, the man “shook the rats” over the passengers’ heads before he finally departed.

Shoe bandit is arrested for stealing over 5,000 shoes

A man in Nagoya, Japan, was arrested on Wednesday after being suspected of stealing more than 5,000 shoes because he was “enjoying their smell.” Masahi Kamata, 28, was first suspected of burglary after two pairs of female shoes were stolen while being dried outside of a home in Owariasahi, Aichi, September last year. Local police also had received several complaints that indoor shoes had been stolen in surrounding areas. After Kamata was arrested, police confiscated about 5,000 pairs of school indoor shoes from a warehouse rented under his name.

Photographer Alison Jackson is causing controversy for her photographs depicting celebrity-look-alikes in comprising positions. Jackson, who has built her career on portraying celebrities in more private moments, caused an uproar through Britain when her photograph of Queen Elizabeth on the toilet was published a few years ago. Jackson said that her aim wasn’t to poke fun at the queen but to pose as a commentary on people’s fascination with people they don’t even know.

Woman dies next to her grave-to-be

In Amsterdam, a Dutch woman who had thoroughly planned out her own funeral after her husband’s death last year, died next to the grave where she wanted to be laid in peace. The 65-year-old widow is suspected to have died of a heart attack while she was visiting her family grave. She reportedly died next to her own gravestone that had her name but no date inscribed. The woman was carrying her will when she died and had already drawn up plans depicting several details of her funeral procession, including preferred music.
