Damned if you don’t
Dear Editor,
I AM the knitter. Firstly: I AM a mother-hen type; that was dead on point. Secondly: Although, Alex Jones was right about the bad hand I’ve been dealt, I am not bitter. I do often knit in bars, only because however, I have a niece on the way and enjoy it. She needs blankets.
I was looking for Alex’s article on the Web page to show my mother how much of a nerd I truly am, and it wasn’t there. I was told that this article is being recanted. FREEDOM OF SPEECH is, I see, no longer something you value! I understand the negative connotations of his words. However, I ask, NAY CHALLENGE you to come up with one female who wasn’t at one time trying to manipulate a man to get what she wanted. I myself (although NOT often nor recently) have done this to a man (even though I knit like a grandmother).

Editor’s reply: Jones’ article “Broad Categories” was removed from the Web site briefly to ensure that The CT staff was within its rights to publish it. It was, and the article is now back online.
