Hollingsworth scores 27 as VCU downs Georgia State

VCU led 76-72 with 54 seconds left in regulation, but cut the lead to two with a pair of free throws and uncontested layup by Vatai Smith forced overtime.

In overtime, Hollingsworth tied the game at 80 with a jump shot from the right baseline with 2:26 left, setting herself up for the game-winning free throws.
Her 27 points put her at 403 points for the season, breaking the freshman points record of 386 set by Kelly Hoover in the 1985-86 season.
Michele Cosel (Mechanicsville/ Atlee High School), Vera Chistova (St. Petersburg, Russia), Krystal Vaughn (Baltimore, Md.) and Stephanie Merlo (Bangor, Pa.) all scored in double figures for the Rams.
Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen scored a game-high 30 points for the Panthers.
