If you haven’t at least heard the name, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, you have obviously been living under a rock for the last few months.
This five piece band from Brooklyn, N.Y. has already exploded in its home state of New York and is now working on world domination. With obvious influences like the Talking Heads and Wilco, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has developed a sound of its own while still resembling these rock icons.
The band released its self-titled CD a while ago, but because of all of the positive reviews and show sellouts, is now getting some press work done.
Overall the album is very solid, with standout tracks including, “The Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth,” which is on of the more upbeat tracks on the disc. “Heavy Meta,l” track 8 on the album, features lead singer Alec Ounsworth screeching up and down the scale and is really the vocal highlight of the album.
Here come Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and nothing is holding them back.
