Two Rams advance at U.Va. Invitational
Rams men’s tennis juniors Sergi Arumi (Barcelona, Spain) and Arnaud LeCloerec (Plouhlnec, France) won first round matches at the Virginia Invitational Friday.
In Flight A singles, Arumi topped Western Michigan’s Brady Crosby 6-4, 6-1, while LeCloerec scorched North Carolina State’s Ben Zink 6-1, 6-3.
Putting 2-0 in perspective on bye-week
The Washington Redskins’ Monday-night miracle Sept. 19 put the team where few thought they would be heading into the bye weekend – 2-0 and tied for first place in the NFC East.
This bye is the best thing that has happened to Redskins fans. A week off is almost as magical as the off-season, where we believe the sky is the limit and the future seems to hold nothing but promise of championship rings and Super Bowl trophies.
Jamiroquai – Dynamite
Bill Clinton was still president when Jamiroquai’s single “Virtual Insanity” had people tapping their toes. The newest album, “Dynamite,” offers more of their signature funky beats, bizarre lyrics and a voice like no other. This record, however, will bore anyone who cannot get into the rhythm.
Blackalicious – Craft
With their latest album, “Craft,” Blackalicious has released what I would best describe as background music. The barrage of lyrics that make up the verses of these songs tend to fade into one noise, which are eventually interrupted by the annoyingly repetitive choruses.
Sigur Ros – Takk
The Icelandic group, Sigur Ros, is at it again. Their latest release, “Takk,” is truly one of the most beautiful albums ever composed. The combination of amazing instrumentals and breathtaking vocals will leave you in a state where you feel like you are floating.
Aiden – Nightmare Anatomy
Victory Records has actually put out some good releases lately. Things were looking up until their most recent release, “Nightmare Academy,” from Aiden. The band is completely unoriginal. With choruses such as “This nightmare won’t last long. Are you scared? So sing this song,” Aiden certainly won’t be winning any awards for their writing ability.
Coheed and Cambria – Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV
The musical comic book created by Claudio Sanchez and friends continues with the third installment, “Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV.” This album has a lot of views that one can look at.
It is the epic story of two characters, Claudio and his wife Cambria.

Nurse arrested for beer festival porn movie
A nurse and two cameramen were arrested at the Munich beer festival for filming a porn movie on the city’s famous big wheel.
The 21-year-old registered nurse, unnamed due to German privacy laws, and her two acquaintances were spotted “filming sexual acts” by three Italian tourists in another carriage of the ride.
‘Surface’ changes everything
Normally the walls of the Anderson Gallery serve only as a support for exhibitions of paintings and sculptures. With some installations, such as last spring’s “Penumbra,” the gallery might paint the walls a different color to enhance the work held within a certain room.
