Presidential music collection

Critics are concerned with the songs in President Bush’s iPod play list. The songs were downloaded by his personal aide Blake Gottesman according to the CNN Web site. The songs include “My Sharona” by The Knacks, which details an older man’s longing for a younger woman, and other songs by artists such as country singer George Jones, a recovering alcoholic. Presidential media advisor Mark McKinnon encouraged critics to keep an open mind. “The fact is that any president who would limit themselves to pro-establishment musicians would have a pretty slim collection,” he said.

Giant chorus

A group of workers in China set a new world record for singing together. The chorus, which was made up of 15,785 workers, sang together to break the record. The group was made up of workers from many industries and was organized by a workers’ union. The conductor led the chorus from a cherry picker that was raised almost 27 feet in the air. The group broke the previous record which was set by a 12,000 person chorus.

Naked youth

Forty-one Chinese university students are having to defend their decision to strip naked during a public art performance. The students, both male and female, took part in the art exhibit called @41 where they stood naked in the shape of the @ symbol and then fell down like dominoes. Their exhibit has stirred debate in China over whether the display was art or pornography. The organizers of the event are proud of their decision and said it was a breakthrough in thought for their country.

Two-headed snake

A Chinese man found a two-headed snake in his garden and is now keeping it as a pet. He found the snake in an old bag in his backyard, and he now keeps it in a tub in his house. Both heads are normal in appearance with eyes and mouths. The snake has red and black rings and as thick as an adult’s thumb.

Police officer caught with pants down

An off-duty policeman accidentally shot a man as he pulled down his pants in the bathroom. The officer was at a car auction in San Antonio, Texas, when he went to use the bathroom and the gun fell from its holster. The officer tried to catch the gun but accidentally grabbed the trigger in his attempt, firing two shots accidentally. A man who was washing his hands was grazed by one of the bullets.

Policeman takes bath in neighbors house

A Japanese police officer was arrested for breaking into his neighbor’s house and taking a bath. The 53-year-old neighbor called the police after seeing a strange man in his tub. When the police came, they found the man soaking and arrested him for trespassing. They later discovered that he was a 21-year-old officer from a local precinct. The officer was drunk at the time and unable to stand on his own. When questioned, the drunken officer did not even realize he was not in his own house.

Man puts car out of misery

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla. man was arrested after shooting his disabled car. The man became angry when his car would not start and pulled out a gun and shot it five times. Shocked neighbors called the police and the man was arrested for discharging a firearm in public. When asked what he was thinking, he said he was putting the car out of its misery. Although he said it was dumb of him to shoot the car, he also said he did not regret his actions.
