From the SGA:

Thanks for the love

On Feb. 23, the Student Government Association hosted a charity event for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault called “Where is the Love?” The response from the student body was very much appreciated, and SGA would like to thank all participants for their help.

With the support from students, faculty and staff, we were able to raise $1,000 to go to this great cause. All monetary donations were directed to the YWCA center for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

The Student Government Association would like to thank VCU for their commitment not only to the community, but also to the university itself. SGA counted on this charity to bring students and faculty together to support a great cause, and hopefully this effort can be repeated in the future.

We cooperated with other student organizations including the VCU Young Democrats, the Muslim and Kuwaiti student associations, the Therapeutic Recreation Club, Sexual Assault and Violence Education and Services (SAVES) and the VCU Police. SGA would like to thank these organizations, Century Florist who donated 300 flowers to be sold on Valentine’s Day, and TY and Imago Dei for their wonderful performances.

Thanks, everyone!
