SGA charity drive to benefit victims

VCU’s Student Government Association is hosting its charity drive finale to make students aware of domestic violence and sexual assault crimes Wednesday Feb. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Commons Plaza.

The event, which will feature speakers and singers from the Richmond community, will discuss how to break the cycle of sexual and domestic abuse.

Students are encouraged to bring broken or unwanted cell phones to donate for refurbishment. Once fixed, these phones will become tracking devices for victims across the country – allowing them to feel safe.

Monetary donations will also be accepted, and all proceeds will go the YWCA, a center for sexual assault and domestic violence victims.
