Rowdies open can on ODU’s Harris

Kevin Wyne was one of several Rowdy Rams to don the Spam suit (plus the matching hat) last Saturday.

The suit, which the Rowdy Rams found for a few bucks in and Ebay auction, was meant to rag on Old Dominion big man Sam Harris, the 7-foot-3 center from Australia.

Harris, a freshman, is the tallest player in NCAA and Monarchs coach Blain Taylor said that his height would draw a lot of attention around the league.

So of course he’d catch heat from VCU’s bunch of organized hecklers.

They didn’t have to do much to get Sam Harris out of his game. He only played three minutes last Saturday, and from his spot on the Monarchs’ bench, he had a great view of the Spam suit.
