Q&A with art duo Lauren Duckworth and Madeline Hoch

Q: What was the history of your collaboration (with Madeline)?
A: Lauren Duckworth: First, it was in a group of 13 people called “Lady Fest” at Chop Suey books.
The Roots brings underground sound to Siegel
It all began in 1987. Tariq Trotter and Ahmir Khalib Thompson became friends at the Philadelphia High School for Creative Performing Arts and began performing their own brand of music around school, on sidewalks and at talent shows.
Trotter, known to his fans as Black Thought, rapped and Thompson, aka ?uestlove, played drums using his drum kit.
MC Chris, The Gaskets rock Raygun
Disc jockey and rapper Chris Ward , aka MC Chris, headlined a concert at Nanci Raygun last Tuesday night. Other acts that night included DJ Krames, Luggage, and The Gaskets.
DJ Krames spins every Thursday night at Nanci Raygun. His influences include Mix Master Mike, DJ Q-bert, and 2-Trip.
